2008 Boekenoogen Santa Lucia Highlands Estate “Stainless Fermented/Barrel Aged” Chardonnay
Intense layers of ripe pineapple, honeydew melon and toasty vanillin oak. Soft, sweet and voluptuous at entry, the palate is full of ripe melon flavors and finishes with a flourish of clove and allspice. Using fermentation temperature control in Stainless Steel and then barreling down to two year old barrels, the emphasis in this style is on fruit intensity and ready enjoyment. Pair with crab cakes or lightly seasoned pork tenderloin.
